Just a Quickie...

Greetings Everyone!

I have been extremely busy with work, my daughter's school projects and doing things around the house.  I have a full-time job which sometimes requires 12 hour days!!!  Anyway, I don't want to bore you with work stuff...so on to the fun stuff!

I couldn't wait to show you this beautiful piece of furniture which my daughter named "Bonita."  I will be back with more pictures of my daughter's room, but in the meantime, please enjoy the quickie! ;)

I found this dresser on craig's list about a month ago.  The lady selling it was a little crazy - well, maybe A LOT crazy!  She wanted $600 for this beat up dresser because according to her, everyone in blogosphere and their mother are buying these to refinish them and selling for lots of moolah.  Well, true; however, this piece of caca is not worth $600!  After exchanging about a million emails, she finally lowered her price to $200.  It is a lot more than I wanted to pay for, but it's an solid wood piece and extremely heavy.

Here's the before:

. . .

and here are a few after shots (sorry for the poor quality photos...these were taken w/my iphone and it never occurred to me to take pictures while it was sitting in my garage):

As soon as my daughter and I clean her room and make it "picture" perfect, I will be back with a brand new post of her room which has been a work-in-progress for the past couple of months.

I'm linking with the following:

  2. Great job. I can't believe that lady was wanting a high price like that. Too funny that she knows that people are painting them and resaling.

  5. Doesn't that make you mad when people try to "cash in" on what is popular, not because it is really worth that amount of money by itself? Glad to hear that you were able to get her to lower the price. I love how you updated it with paint too. I think $200 was a fair price for something that large and well made too. I go to consignment stores alot and that would've been considered a very good price there.

And, you are too kind (and funny) sharing your "wwbd" story ... you're giving me *way* too much credit, sweet friend. But, I sincerely thank you! Have a fabulous evening ... now, hurry up and post a picture of your gorgeous new crystal lamps!
